Steelheads Use Six Goal 3rd Period to Roll Over Petes

The Mississauga Steelheads defeated the Peterborough Petes 10-1 in front of 2,282 of their home fans. The Steelheads opened up the scoring at around the midway point of the first period and didn’t stop scoring until near the end of the second period, by that time the Steelheads where up 4-0.  At 17:30 of the 2 nd period Peterborough’s Logan DeNoble scored his 32 nd goal of the season to break the Steelheads run, however this would be the only goal they would score all game. The Steelheads would continue to pour it on the in the third period, scoring six more goals before the end of the game. Mississauga was lead offensively by Michael McLeod 93 (3 goals, 3 assists) and Spencer Watson (2 goals, 2 assists) and rookie goaltender Jacob Ingham stopped 26 of 27 shots faced for the victory. Atlantic Hockey Showdown: Canisius shuts out Mercyhurst on senior night

Credit USCHO.com On Thursday, night the Canisius Golden Griffins laid an absolute beat down on the Mercyhurst Lakers, which was also their last home game of the season as well as their senior night. Canisius scored early in the game and never looked back, Sophomore Defenseman Alex Jaeckle scored at 4:17 of the first period. This started off a torrid three goal first period for the Griffins which would eventually chase Lakers goaltender Brandon Wildung from the net going into the second period. Jaeckle’s game winner was his third goal as well as his third game-winning goal of the season. Senior goaltender Charles Williams set school records in wins with 19 and shutouts with 5 and the Griffins extended their unbeaten streak to 15 games, the longest active unbeaten streak in the entire nation. Knights win match over 67's

The London Knights defeated the Ottawa 67's 4-2 on a Monday afternoon matinee in front of 6,046 fans at TD place. The Knights used a balanced attack along with two goals in each of the last two periods to come back and beat the 67’s in convincing fashion. Ottawa opened up the scoring at 4:10 of the first period when Mitchell Hoelscher scored his second goal of the season, the Knights would answer back with two of their own near the beginning and the end of the second period to take a 2-1 lead going into the final frame. Ottawa would proceed to tie the game back up at 7:09 of the 3 rd period before London’s leading goal scorer Cliff Pu got the lead right back four minutes later with his 32 nd of the season and eventual game winner. London would get an empty-net goal with one second remaining in the game. London’s Rookie goaltender Jordan Kooy stopped 19 of 21 shots on goal for the victory while 67’s goaltender Olivier Lafreniere stopped 23 of the 26 shots he
