Knights win match over 67's




The London Knights defeated the Ottawa 67's 4-2 on a Monday afternoon matinee in front of 6,046 fans at TD place. The Knights used a balanced attack along with two goals in each of the last two periods to come back and beat the 67’s in convincing fashion. Ottawa opened up the scoring at 4:10 of the first period when Mitchell Hoelscher scored his second goal of the season, the Knights would answer back with two of their own near the beginning and the end of the second period to take a 2-1 lead going into the final frame. Ottawa would proceed to tie the game back up at 7:09 of the 3rd period before London’s leading goal scorer Cliff Pu got the lead right back four minutes later with his 32nd of the season and eventual game winner. London would get an empty-net goal with one second remaining in the game. London’s Rookie goaltender Jordan Kooy stopped 19 of 21 shots on goal for the victory while 67’s goaltender Olivier Lafreniere stopped 23 of the 26 shots he faced for the loss. London sweeps the seasons series 2 games to zero and moves to 10-0-0 against the 67’s over the last 5 years.
