Playoff Round #1 (March 3rd-5th)

This round is a best of 3 game series hosted by the higher. The top 5 teams in the conference receive a bye and will host the winners from round #1 

#11 Niagara Vs. #6 RIT 

- RIT will be hosting this series at the Gene Polisseni Center in Rochester, NY 
- RIT swept the regular season series against Niagara, beating Niagara 7-1 and 6-2 
- Niagara is currently on a 12 game losing streak 

#10 AIC Vs. #7 Mercyhurst 

- Mercyhurst will be hosting this series at the Mercyhurst Ice Center in Erie, PA 
- Mercyhurst split the season series with AIC, losing the first game 3-5 but coming back the next night and winning 6-3
- Mercyhurst is currently on a three game losing streak while AIC enters this series unbeaten in their last three (one win, two ties) 

#9 Sacred Heart Vs. #8 Bentley 

- Bentley will be hosting this series at the John A Ryan Arena in Watertown, Mass
- Bentley split the season series with Sacred Heart, losing games 3-2 and 5-4 and winning 3-2 and 4-0

Playoff Round #2 (March 10th-12th)

The winners from the first round of the playoffs will travel to one of the top three teams in the conference and play another best of three game series (Canisius plays lowest remaining seed, Air Force plays the second lowest, and Army plays the highest remaining). #4 RMU will play host to Holy cross. 

Playoff Rounds 3-4 (March 17th-18th)

Both of these rounds are one game, single elimination games. Round #3 will consist of the highest remaining seed playing the lowest remaining and the two middle seeds playing each other. The final round will consist of the two winners of round #3 playing for the Championship. These games will take place at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, NY.

Winner to NCAA Tournament

Whichever team wins this conference will receive an automatic bid into the NCAA Men's Division One playoffs for the chance to battle for a National Championship. No team from this conference has ever won a National Championship.

Atlantic Hockey Showdown: Playoff Round #3

"Canisius Wins 2013 Championship" Courtesy Canisius Athletics Round #2 Recap:  #7 Mercyhurst (1) Vs. #3 Army (2)  The Army Black Knights barely avoided one of the largest upsets of the tournament thus far by beating the Mercyhurst Lakers in a very close 3 game series 2 games to 1. On Friday night Army exploded with 6 goals to take game #1 6-4, the Golden Knights were lead by freshman forward Brendan Soucie with 2 goals. In game #2 it took overtime but Mercyhurst was able to pull out the victory and extend their visit to West Point for another day with a 3-2 overtime victory, Sophomore Forward Matthew Whittaker  led Mercyhurst with two goals including the overtime winner. On Sunday night Army managed to sneak away with a 4-3 victory after being down 3-1 in the 2nd period.  #8 Bentley (0) Vs. #2 Air Force (2) Air Force won the battle of the Falcons this weekend by sweeping Bentley 2 games to nothing to advance to Rochester. Steelheads Use Six Goal 3rd Period to Roll Over Petes

The Mississauga Steelheads defeated the Peterborough Petes 10-1 in front of 2,282 of their home fans. The Steelheads opened up the scoring at around the midway point of the first period and didn’t stop scoring until near the end of the second period, by that time the Steelheads where up 4-0.  At 17:30 of the 2 nd period Peterborough’s Logan DeNoble scored his 32 nd goal of the season to break the Steelheads run, however this would be the only goal they would score all game. The Steelheads would continue to pour it on the in the third period, scoring six more goals before the end of the game. Mississauga was lead offensively by Michael McLeod 93 (3 goals, 3 assists) and Spencer Watson (2 goals, 2 assists) and rookie goaltender Jacob Ingham stopped 26 of 27 shots faced for the victory. Petes goaltender Scott Smith was left in for all 10 goals and only managed to stop 24 of 34 shots faced in the loss. This was the first win of the season over the Petes this
