Frozen Four

Harvard (1) Vs. Minnesota Duluth (2)
The University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs defeated the Harvard Crimson 2-1 in the first of two semifinals at the United Center in Chicago. Harvard led the play early with quick passing in the offensive zone. Tyler Moy scored Harvard only goal at 15 minutes of the first period, entering the zone and firing it over the shoulder of Minnesota's goaltender. This would be the last impressive change they would have as the Bulldog's would continue to bully the Crimson and would score the final two goals to win the game. Minnesota will await their final team to play in the championship on Saturday night.

Denver(6) Vs. Notre Dame(1)
The Denver Pioneers used a six goal offensive explosion to be the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame in the second semifinal game of the Frozen Four. This game was never close even for a second as Denver jumped on the Fighting Irish early and often. Senior forward Emil Romig started off the scoring for Denver in the first period with an absolutely beautiful shot right over the goaltender' shoulder on the short side. Notre Dame would get their only goal at the beginning of the third period but at that point it was 5-1 and was already all but over. This matchup in the final will be just the third time in NCAA history that the top two seeded teams will be playing for the national championship title.

Finals

Minnesota Duluth (2) Vs.  Denver (3)
Denver won their school' ninth national championship by defeating the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs 3-2. Denver scored the first two goals of the contest before Duluth got one back. Denver Sophomore Forward Jarid Lukosevicius finished off his hat trick, the first time a player scored a hat trick in the National Title game since his coach did it nearly 20 years ago. Minnesota Duluth would put on tremendous pressure to try and come back but they would fall just short.

Credit Erie Otters  In recent history the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League have not been good. From 2005 to the end of the 2013 season they either did not qualify for the playoffs or were quickly bounced in the first round. All of this started to change when they drafted future NHL superstar Connor McDavid first overall in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection Draft. This pickup of one of the greatest young players of this decade along with other players beginning to step up allowed for the Otters to jump into serious playoff contention, as they made it to the Conference Finals each of the last three years. Credit Erie Highlight Reel Unfortunately each of the last three years the Otters have failed to win the OHL championship and qualify for a shot at the coveted Memorial cup, but this year just might be their chance. After management took a look at all of the aging star power on their team that will soon be gone, most of whom will be gone at the end of the season, the...
