Otters beat Knights 5-1

The Erie Otters defeated the London Knights on Wednesday night by a score of 5-1 in front of 3,865 boisterous fans at the Erie Insurance Center.  This extended the Otters winning streak to 11 games in a row, the longest such winning streak in the league currently. Right Winger Alex Debrincat scored a goal and chipped in two assists, including his 100th point of the season*, and Dylan Strome scored two goals and added an assist to lead the way for the Otters. This game was never really close as the Otters jumped to a quick 2-0 lead in the first and never looked back while the Knights were only able to muster a lowly 17 shots on Otters backup goaltender Joseph Murcado. Knights backup goaltender Tyler Johnson made 26 saves on 31 shots in the loss and defenseman Evan Bouchard had the lone goal. The Otters will go on the road next to visit the Missisauga Steelheads on Friday while the London Knights will be at home on Friday to host the Owen Sound Attack.

*This was Debrincat's third straight 100 point season, he has not scored less than 101 points each season since entering the OHL in 2014-2015. He has had 104 and 101 points in his last two seasons and is on pace to blow past these numbers this season.
