Game #1: Owen Sound (9) Vs. Kitchener (1) 1-0 Owen Sound
The Owen Sound Attack opened up their 2017 playoff campaign in convincing fashion tonight, defeating the Rangers 9-1 in front of a home crowd of 3,035 fans. The Attack scored their first goal at 7:33 of the first period and didn't stop scoring until the last minute of the second period, by that time they were up 7-0. The most impressive part about this win was that all nine goals were scored by different skaters, the Attack were led in points by assistant captain Nick Suzuki who had a goal and two assists. Rangers veteran goaltender Luke Opilka had a rough night in net as he only managed to stop 28 of 35 shots before being pulled.

Game #2: Owen Sound (1) Vs. Kitchener (2) Tied 1-1
The Kitchener Rangers were able to even the series at one game a piece with a gritty 2-1 victory over the Attack. After being down 1-0 to the Attack just 33 seconds into the game Rangers left winger Adam Mascherin scored a goal and later assisted on the game winner to help the Rangers to victory. The first star of the game and the real reason why the Rangers were able to pull out this win is the spectacular play by goaltender Luke Opilka who stopped a whopping 40 of 41 total shots for his first victory this postseason.

Game #3: Kitchener (0) Vs. Owen Sound (4) 2-1 Owen Sound
After losing a close fought game two, the Owen Sound Attack got right back to it by shutting out the Rangers 4-0 in game #3 of their first round series. The Attack were led by center Nick Suzuki who had two goals including the empty netter to ice the game away at 18:35 of the third period. The Rangers looked as if their game two victory had taken a lot out of them as they were only able to muster 21 shots on Attack goaltender Michael McNiven. The Rangers must come up with a much better all around effort if they want to climb back into contention in this series.

Game #4: Kitchener (4) Vs. Owen Sound (7) 3-1 Owen Sound
The Attack are now only one win away from advancing after defeating the Rangers for the third time by a score of 7-4 in front of 4,784 fans at the Kitchener Memorial Arena. This game featured multiple  lead changes, as the Rangers jumped out in front early but then gave up two straight late in the first period. The Rangers would go on to score two of their own to tie the game up, but after that it was all Owen Sound as they scored five of the games last six goals to push the Rangers to the brink of elimination. Owen Sound was led on offense by Palmu Petrus who scored a hat-trick, goals 3-5 on the playoffs for him.

Credit Erie Otters  In recent history the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League have not been good. From 2005 to the end of the 2013 season they either did not qualify for the playoffs or were quickly bounced in the first round. All of this started to change when they drafted future NHL superstar Connor McDavid first overall in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection Draft. This pickup of one of the greatest young players of this decade along with other players beginning to step up allowed for the Otters to jump into serious playoff contention, as they made it to the Conference Finals each of the last three years. Credit Erie Highlight Reel Unfortunately each of the last three years the Otters have failed to win the OHL championship and qualify for a shot at the coveted Memorial cup, but this year just might be their chance. After management took a look at all of the aging star power on their team that will soon be gone, most of whom will be gone at the end of the season, the...
